Scott Nelson leads all aspects of Panera Bread’s brand marketing, including brand communications, digital, social media, in-café point-of-purchase, brand design, partnerships, influencer, and product test marketing. Before joining Panera, Nelson was the Head of North America at Viber, a mobile messaging app platform, where he managed operations and marketing and led the brand to nearly double its user size. Nelson founded and advised companies including,,, and Maverick, a brand consultancy firm that advised clients such as KEDS, Sperry and MIT start-up, edX. As the Global Director of Brand Communications at Converse, he was responsible for the brand's global advertising and led marketing efforts for music- and entertainment-related initiatives. His previous experience also includes roles at TBWA Chiat Day and Modernista!, where he managed advertising for brands including adidas, Anheuser Busch, Disney, and Fox Sports.
